Teacher Professional Development

 

Two teachers from each of our partner schools have participated in professional development based on the BRIDGES pedagogical framework. The professional development program is designed to support partner teachers to develop STEM afterschool clubs focused on engaging students with science, engineering, and technology to address local environmental problems.

Teachers have participated in the following activities:

  • Observations of student activity during Saturday Academies at UNCG

  • Parallel participation in activities with students during Saturday Academies at UNCG

  • Planning activities based on the pedagogical framework for the Summer Camp

  • Makerspaces and emergent technologies for STEM classrooms

  • Learning about design processes and activities for STEM classrooms

  • Design and facilitation of after school clubs based on the BRIDGES pedagogical framework.
